NORTH7 Shield is currently in a controlled development phase. The platform combines passive RF detection, signal classification and automated situational analysis to detect relevant drone activity.
A key focus is not solely on detecting the drone itself, but on identifying and locating its source. In many operational scenarios, the question “Where is the operator?” is more decisive than mere drone detection. Locating the control source enables a more comprehensive situational assessment and supports a faster response to potential threats.
By combining multiple sensors and analysis methods, NORTH7 Shield can narrow down the position of radio signals and assess suspicious activity. The achievable accuracy depends on factors such as the number of sensors, deployment geometry and operational environment.
Site protection with a digital situational picture
To protect a specific site — industrial facilities, critical infrastructure or event grounds — the object can be captured in advance as a true-to-scale 3D model. Sensor positions, detection ranges and identified drone and operator locations are displayed directly within this terrain model, turning abstract RF signals into a spatially intelligible situational picture that lets response teams orient quickly.
The 3D model also supports sensor placement planning: lines of sight, obstructions and potential coverage gaps can be assessed during the planning phase — tailored to the actual geometry of each site.
Initial core modules of the platform have already been implemented. Further functions are continuously being developed, tested and validated within pilot projects.

We develop proprietary methods for calibrated risk forecasting — from crises and conflicts to supply chain disruptions and threats from autonomous platforms. Our goal is to detect security-relevant developments across Europe and globally earlier than conventional analysis.

Detection of remotely controlled humanoid platforms
